We know root canals can be a pain – literally – so, at Oxford Family Dental, your Port Coquitlam dental practice, we aim to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
Root canals are performed when there has been extensive damage, decay, or infection to a tooth. The nerve and pulp of the tooth are removed during a root canal, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.
Watch out for signs that indicate that you might need a root canal:
Bad toothache pain when eating or chewing
Extreme sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures
Darkening/greying of the tooth
Swelling or tenderness in gums surrounding the specific tooth
If you experience any of these symptoms, consult with your Port Coquitlam dentist at Oxford Family Dental. We’ll work together to provide a plan of action for your dental health.
