Dr. Amberene Chunara

After spending four long years in braces, Dr. Amberene Chunara came to appreciate the value of a healthy, esthetic smile. It was this experience that turned her own fear of the dentist into a curiosity for the profession. So, following her Bachelors degree in Microbiology & Immunology, Dr. Amberene received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree with distinction from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. In order to satisfy her continued desire for knowledge, she went on to complete a General Practice Residency at the University of British Columbia. There, she gained additional training in managing dental emergencies, performing oral surgery, and caring for patients with complicated medical conditions. She also had the opportunity to serve marginalized populations in the Downtown East side, the Okanagan Valley and Northern BC, as well as impoverished children in Vietnam and Cambodia. She then returned to her home province of Alberta to practice general dentistry.

Now a Vancouver resident, Dr. Amberene enjoys working with both adults and children. She strives to provide a high standard of care in a patient and understanding manner and engages in continuing education and study clubs in order to do so. In addition to general dentistry, Dr. Amberene has special interests in oral surgery, Invisalign, and pediatrics. Dr. Amberene believes in active listening, comprehensive treatment planning, and evidence-based care to help her patients achieve their oral health goals. She is always looking forward to meeting new patients with whom she can share her passion for dentistry.
